Na tien jaar ervaring bij de balie te Brussel heeft Virginie Van Steenkiste op 1 september 2014 haar eigen advocatenkantoor
« VS Law » opgericht. Van februari 2018 tot november 2021 werkte zij voor het advocatenkantoor Tilia Law. Sinds 1 december 2021 is zij werkzaam bij het advocatenkantoor Jones Day Brussels.
Virginie is in 2002 met onderscheiding afgestudeerd als licentiaat in de rechten aan de Université Libre de Bruxelles. In 2002 studeerde zij in het kader van het uitwisselingsprogramma Erasmus gedurende een half collegejaar aan de University of Aberdeen (Schotland). In 2003 behaalde zij vervolgens een LL.M. diploma in bank-, vennootschaps- en financieel recht aan Fordham University in New York. In datzelfde jaar is zij geslaagd voor het examen om toegelaten te worden tot de balie te New York. In 2011 behaalde Virginie een bijkomend Master diploma in vennootschapsrecht aan de Hogeschool-Universiteit Brussel. Het onderwerp van haar masterproef was het faillissement van een vennoot in een tijdelijke handels- vennootschap.
Van 2004 tot 2006 werkte Virginie bij het Brusselse kantoor van het internationaal advocatenkantoor McGuireWoods waar zij vennootschapsrecht beoefende. Van 2006 tot 2014 werkte Virginie bij het Brusselse kantoor van het internationaal advocatenkantoor Taylor Wessing waar zij in de eerste jaren haar ervaring in het vennootschapsrecht opdeed (fusies, overnames en andere verrichtingen van vennootschappen).
Haar praktijk evolueerde vervolgens naar commerciële procesvoering in de ruime zin alsmede bouwrecht waarbij zij nuttig gebruik maakte van haar grondige kennis van het vennootschapsrecht.

Virginie is ingeschreven bij de Balie te Brussel en bij de Balie te New York sinds 2004. Haar moedertaal is Frans. Zij spreekt vlot Nederlands en Engels.

Après dix ans d'expérience au barreau de Bruxelles, Virginie Van Steenkiste a fondé le 1er septembre 2014 son propre cabinet d’avocat « VS Law ». Elle a travaillé de février 2018 à novembre 2021 pour le cabinet d’avocats Tilia Law. Elle travaille depuis le 1er décembre 2021 pour le cabinet d’avocats Jones Day Bruxelles.
Virginie a obtenu son diplôme de droit avec distinction en 2002 de l'Université Libre de Bruxelles. En 2002, elle a étudié dans le cadre du programme d’échange Erasmus un semestre à l’University of Aberdeen (Ecosse). En 2003, elle a obtenu un LL.M. en droit des sociétés, bancaire et financier de Fordham University à New York. La même année, elle a également réussi l'examen du barreau de New York. En 2011, Virginie a obtenu un Master complémentaire en droit des sociétés de la Hogeschool-Universiteit Brussel. Son mémoire portait sur la faillite d’un associé d’une société momentanée.
De 2004 à 2006, Virginie a travaillé pour le bureau de Bruxelles du cabinet d'avocats international McGuireWoods où elle a pratiqué le droit des sociétés. De 2006 à 2014, elle a travaillé pour le bureau de Bruxelles du cabinet d'avocats international Taylor Wessing où elle a acquis dans un premier temps une expérience en droit des sociétés (fusions, acquisitions et autres opérations de sociétés).
Sa pratique a ensuite évolué vers le contentieux commercial au sens large et le droit de la construction où elle a mis à profit sa connaissance approfondie du droit des sociétés.

Virginie est inscrite au barreau de Bruxelles et au barreau de New York depuis 2004. La langue maternelle de Virginie est le français. Elle parle également couramment le néerlandais et l'anglais.

Virginie obtained her law degree cum laude in 2002 from the Université Libre de Bruxelles. In 2002, she also studied one semester at the University of Aberdeen (Scotland) within the framework of the Erasmus exchange program. In 2003, she obtained an LL.M. in Banking, Corporate and Finance Law from Fordham University in New York. She also passed the New York State Bar Examination in that same year. In 2011, Virginie obtained an additional Master’s degree in corporate law from the Hogeschool-Universiteit Brussel. Her essay related to the bankruptcy of a partner in a temporary partnership.
From 2004 to 2006, Virginie worked for the Brussels office of the international law firm McGuireWoods where she practiced corporate law. From 2006 to 2014, she worked for the Brussels office of the international law firm Taylor Wessing where she acquired in the first years an experience in corporate law (mergers, acquisitions and other operations of companies).
Her practice subsequently evolved to all aspects of commercial litigation and construction law where she was also able to apply her deep knowledge of corporate law.

Virginie is admitted to the Brussels Bar and the New York Bar since 2004. The mother tongue of Virginie is French. She is also fluent in Dutch and English.
